Information sessions are a great way to learn more about course planning and Programs of Choice – including language programs such as French Immersion and Career Education options – as well as elective classes for high school students. Information sessions are being held in person.

Welcome to Kindergarten Info Evening for Parents of Children with Disabilities or Diverse Abilities
Registration
Register beginning in February (in advance of the next school year) if your student:
- is starting Kindergarten next Fall
- will be new (all grades) to the District next Fall
All registrations received in February, regardless of what date they are received during the month, will receive equal priority.
Apply in February (in advance of the next school year) to be considered for priority placement for the 2025-26 school year if your student:
- would like to apply to French Immersion, Mandarin Language Arts, or any of the other Secondary and Elementary Programs of Choice
- wants to attend a school other than their home school (cross-district transfer)
All applications received in February, regardless of what date they are received during the month, will receive equal priority.
Current Grade 7 Students Going Into Grade 8
Students going into Grade 8 in the 2025-26 school year will receive information in the Spring about registration at their elementary school’s catchment high school as well as course selection. Therefore, current Grade 7s who attend an elementary school in the Burnaby School District do not need to apply in February unless they are wanting to attend a high school that is outside of their catchment. Regardless of which elementary school they attend, those who want to attend a different high school from the one in their local attendance area based on their home address need to apply for a cross-district transfer, which can be found here. Families of current Grade 7 students who attend an independent or private school and want to go to a secondary school in the Burnaby School District should contact the office of the high school that is within their catchment to receive registration information by email.
